Other Online Gambling

You might think from all my talk that I’m just a sportsbook guy. No way!

I actually like several different kinds of online gambling, from online poker to online bingo (no, really!). All things considered, I probably spend more time and money at online casinos than at all of the others, including sportsbooks (even though they’re my favorite, I’m in and out very quickly, and I generally wager relatively small amounts!).

  • Online casinos have a wide variety of classic casino games, including the high-rollers’ favorite, baccarat, as well as blackjack and a surprising number of other “21″ variations. Of course, no casino in its right mind would be without roulette and craps, and you can expect to find at least a few and often dozens of video poker games, too.

From sheer numbers alone, online slots make up the majority of the online casino experience. I’ve been to online casinos that feature hundreds of the games, from the authentic old-school one-armed bandits and fruit machines all the way to the modern and high-tech video bonus poker with extra screens full of special features.

  • If you’d rather play a round of cards against real players, you’re looking for online poker. Dominated by Texas Hold’em, the online poker room nevertheless offer a nice selection of other poker games as well — usually Omaha (straight up or hi/lo), 5-card stud, 7 card stud, and not infrequently a 5-card draw as well.

Many of the best poker rooms also feature an online casino USA (or elsewhere), either as a handful of extra games on the side or as a full-fledged sister site. The best of these combos that I’ve seen is Doyle’s Room, which mates a full-featured casino with the unbeatable Cake Poker network — and throws in Doyle Brunson, the Godfather of Texas Hold’em himself, as the icing.
